I didn't realize he was so accident-prone when I married him

We have spent the afternoon in the Urgent Care facility, as Andrés has broken his toe.

I wasn't home at the time, so I'm not quite sure what happened, but according to report he was peacefully strolling into the kitchen, minding his own business, when a vicious doorframe leaped out and attacked his pinky toe.

Now he has silk tape and a funny shoe so he can limp around without bending it. We're told it should be pretty much better in about two weeks, although it will take another few weeks to heal completely.

Yikes! That sounds startling and painful for him. And not the most pleasant afternoon for either of you.

Hope the healing goes as smoothly as expected!

He says it only hurts when he tries to bend it, so it is not painful most of the time.

Ow! That vicious doorframe should be furiously scolded and sent to bed with no supper. I hope Andrés isn't in much pain.

Nah, I'm basically fine—more annoyed than hurt. I haven't even taken any painkillers. It's just bothersome most of the time. It only hurts like crazy if something tries to bend it. And, now I have a shoe that's suspiciously similar to yours. ;)

Well, annoying is better than some of the alternatives. Still it was a horrible doorframe that should be punished. Or at least growled at.

:/ I hope he heals up soon! Broken pinky toes aren't too bad - I managed (while not breaking up two fighting cats) to lunge into a couch and break mine a few years back. I ended up taping my toes together and hobbling around for a few weeks, but it wasn't awful. Ok, except at first. But he's past that bit now! Now it's just sympathy and funny shoes.
You should inquire about frequent emergency room points, though, at this rate.

But if we had an emergency room frequent visitor card, he'd insist on using it so it wouldn't be wasted. It'd just be tempting fate.

He's used up most of the sympathy, I think, so it's just funny shoes now. And really dramatic bruising. (It didn't look like much right after he did it, but by yesterday the sides of the toe were very dark purple. If you're mean to him, he'll make you look at pictures.)
