Letter Cookies

Today Tori and I made cookies with the letter-shaped cookie cutters. We spelled "Tori" and "Morgan", as you'd expect, and then "Trombonesey" and "Clifford" (Tori's imaginary and stuffed dogs, respectively), and then "Eggplant" and "Cabbage" (because Morgan demanded imaginary friend parity).

Trombonesey is my favorite. Tori likes to collect sticks in the park for him to fetch.

Imaginary dog! That is lovely.

It is not entirely clear to me, however, whether Morgan's imaginary friends are actually vegetables, are named for vegetables, or don't exist but she wanted some cookies naming things she likes.

When Morgan had imaginary siblings/children (it was unclear), they were named for vegetables. I remember Potato and Bean, and a quick check back in the tags here reveals Lettuce. Eggplant is one of the originals, but Cabbage is new.

I know perfectly well that children have a rich inner life -- I used to be a kid, after all -- but the occasional detail is just so great.
